Neden Avustralya ülkesinde barındırmalı?

Australian audiences are the whole reason. Sydney carries the trans-Pacific landing and the bulk of the load; Melbourne exists so a game server, a VPN endpoint or a Postgres primary has somewhere to fail over to on separate fibre. Customers who tried Singapore first come back for the round trip.

Hukuki tablo

The Privacy Act 1988 applies, overseen by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Australia runs a mandatory telecommunications data-retention scheme, written for carriers and carriage service providers; whether it reaches a virtual-server host is unsettled, and we are not going to tell you it plainly does not. The sharper point for a buyer is the assistance and access regime, which lets agencies serve notices on a provider with a non-disclosure obligation attached — the same shape of instrument as the United Kingdom's, and the reason this is not the jurisdiction to pick for that concern. Content removal is a court order or a notice from the eSafety Commissioner under the Online Safety Act, not an email from a complainant.

Avustralya için özel sorular

01Does Australia's data-retention law mean you keep logs on me?
No more than anywhere else. The scheme targets carriers and carriage service providers, and we are neither. We hold your email address, invoices, instance configuration and 72 hours of NetFlow-level metadata for abuse work — the same list as every other site. We answer orders valid in Australia and tell you unless a court bars it.
02Sydney or Melbourne?
Sydney unless you have a reason. It is the older of the two, carries the larger port and more peers, and is where the trans-Pacific routes land. Melbourne is the second failure domain — separate fibre, its own exchange — and the closer of the two for Victorian users. Running both is the usual pattern for anything that must not go dark.

Sorular

Avustralya ülkesinde barındırma hakkında sorular

01Do I really not have to verify my identity?
Correct. Ordering requires an email address and a payment, and that is the whole list. There is no document upload, no selfie, no phone verification, no address check and no card on file. We have never run identity verification and we do not plan to start — the cheapest way to protect customer documents is to never hold any.
02What do you actually store about me?
Your email address, your invoices, the configuration of your servers, and 72 hours of NetFlow-level connection metadata used only for abuse investigation. Nothing else. When you close the account, all of it is erased within 24 hours except invoices, which accounting law makes us keep for ten years — those hold an invoice name of your choosing and no verified identity.
03Why can I only buy six or twelve months at a time?
Because it is what makes the price possible. Monthly billing means churn, idle capacity kept warm for people who might come back, payment retries and support load. Selling in terms removes all of it, and lets us buy hardware against known demand rather than a forecast. The saving goes straight into the rate card — a twelve-month Base works out around 20% below the six-month rate, and both are below what monthly billing would cost us to offer.
04How many IP addresses do I get?
One dedicated IPv4 and a routed /64 of IPv6 with every plan. Up to eight extra IPv4 addresses can be added at €1.20 each per month, assigned from the region's own prefix so geolocation stays consistent. A routed /48 of IPv6 is €2 a month if you are running your own network behind us.
05Is DDoS protection included?
Yes, on every plan, with no separate charge and no traffic threshold. Volumetric attacks are absorbed by hardware scrubbers at the edge and mitigation engages in under four seconds. The advanced tier adds layer-7 scrubbing and rules you write yourself, which matters for game servers and public APIs but not for much else.
06Is port 25 open? Can I run a mail server?
Port 25 is closed by default on new instances and opened on request — send a ticket saying what you are sending and to roughly how many recipients. It usually takes under an hour. Custom reverse DNS on both v4 and v6 is self-service from the console, which is the part that actually determines whether your mail lands.
