Dlaczego hostować w Niemcy?

Germany is the default, and most people who start in Frankfurt stay there. Frankfurt carries the general-purpose fleet: web apps, databases, VPN endpoints, control planes for infrastructure elsewhere. Düsseldorf is chosen deliberately, usually as the paired region for something already running in Frankfurt, or by people who want DE-CIX without the Frankfurt hall.

Stan prawny

Germany applies the GDPR through the Bundesdatenschutzgesetz. Supervision of private companies sits with the Land authority where the data is — Hesse for Frankfurt, North Rhine-Westphalia for Düsseldorf — rather than with the federal BfDI, whose remit is federal bodies and the telecoms and postal sector. The general retention obligation in telecommunications law has been suspended for years and the Court of Justice ruled against it; as of writing no blanket duty is enforced and the legislative position keeps moving. Hosts answer for content once they have actual knowledge of it — a Digital Services Act standard, so identical in every EU country here — and before that, removal is a court's call.

Pytania lokalne: Niemcy

01Is my data in Germany subject to German data-retention law?
The general obligation in German telecommunications law has been suspended and the Court of Justice ruled against it, so as of writing nothing requires us to log more in Frankfurt than anywhere else — read that as the current position rather than a settled one. What we hold is section 1 of the privacy policy: an email address, invoices, instance configuration, 72 hours of NetFlow, support tickets for 24 months, and an IP address and timestamp for console logins for 30 days. An order valid in Germany gets what is on that list and nothing that is not.
02Frankfurt or Düsseldorf?
Frankfurt unless you have a reason. It is the older room, the larger one, and DE-CIX Frankfurt reaches more networks in a single hop than anything else we run. Düsseldorf earns its place as the second instance: different building, its own exchanges, and a median 3 ms inside its metro against Frankfurt's 2 ms.

Pytania

Pytania o hosting w Niemcy

01Do I really not have to verify my identity?
Correct. Ordering requires an email address and a payment, and that is the whole list. There is no document upload, no selfie, no phone verification, no address check and no card on file. We have never run identity verification and we do not plan to start — the cheapest way to protect customer documents is to never hold any.
02What do you actually store about me?
Your email address, your invoices, the configuration of your servers, and 72 hours of NetFlow-level connection metadata used only for abuse investigation. Nothing else. When you close the account, all of it is erased within 24 hours except invoices, which accounting law makes us keep for ten years — those hold an invoice name of your choosing and no verified identity.
03Why can I only buy six or twelve months at a time?
Because it is what makes the price possible. Monthly billing means churn, idle capacity kept warm for people who might come back, payment retries and support load. Selling in terms removes all of it, and lets us buy hardware against known demand rather than a forecast. The saving goes straight into the rate card — a twelve-month Base works out around 20% below the six-month rate, and both are below what monthly billing would cost us to offer.
04How many IP addresses do I get?
One dedicated IPv4 and a routed /64 of IPv6 with every plan. Up to eight extra IPv4 addresses can be added at €1.20 each per month, assigned from the region's own prefix so geolocation stays consistent. A routed /48 of IPv6 is €2 a month if you are running your own network behind us.
05Is DDoS protection included?
Yes, on every plan, with no separate charge and no traffic threshold. Volumetric attacks are absorbed by hardware scrubbers at the edge and mitigation engages in under four seconds. The advanced tier adds layer-7 scrubbing and rules you write yourself, which matters for game servers and public APIs but not for much else.
06Is port 25 open? Can I run a mail server?
Port 25 is closed by default on new instances and opened on request — send a ticket saying what you are sending and to roughly how many recipients. It usually takes under an hour. Custom reverse DNS on both v4 and v6 is self-service from the console, which is the part that actually determines whether your mail lands.
