Dlaczego hostować w SRA Hongkong (Chiny)?

Customers land here for Greater China audiences: API front-ends, game lobbies, CDN origins, and Asian mirrors of a European service. HKIX does most of the work. It is usually paired with Singapore, which covers the rest of the region on separate transit. Stock is tight here more often than at our other Asian sites.

Stan prawny

The Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance applies, supervised by the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data. There is no general communications-retention mandate on hosting providers. Content removal normally runs through a court. Seoul and Singapore both have routes around a court too, so that on its own is not what sets Hong Kong apart; what does is the national security legislation, which gives the authorities a direct power to require removal of electronic material and is drawn to reach beyond the territory. Weigh that before you put anything here that someone could read politically.

Pytania lokalne: SRA Hongkong (Chiny)

01Is Hong Kong a privacy jurisdiction?
Not in the way Zurich or Reykjavík are, and we would not sell it as one. The Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance is a real regime with a real commissioner, but the national security powers over electronic content sit alongside it. Pick Hong Kong for the route into the mainland. If jurisdiction is the deciding factor, pick somewhere else on this map.
02Why is Hong Kong so often marked low stock?
Because we stop selling on a host when it drifts above three per cent CPU steal, and HKG1 is a smaller hall than Singapore or Tokyo, so there is less headroom to absorb that. Capacity comes back as instances are migrated off. The alternative, meanwhile, is Singapore or Tokyo, both larger and both usually open.

Pytania

Pytania o hosting w SRA Hongkong (Chiny)

01Do I really not have to verify my identity?
Correct. Ordering requires an email address and a payment, and that is the whole list. There is no document upload, no selfie, no phone verification, no address check and no card on file. We have never run identity verification and we do not plan to start — the cheapest way to protect customer documents is to never hold any.
02What do you actually store about me?
Your email address, your invoices, the configuration of your servers, and 72 hours of NetFlow-level connection metadata used only for abuse investigation. Nothing else. When you close the account, all of it is erased within 24 hours except invoices, which accounting law makes us keep for ten years — those hold an invoice name of your choosing and no verified identity.
03Why can I only buy six or twelve months at a time?
Because it is what makes the price possible. Monthly billing means churn, idle capacity kept warm for people who might come back, payment retries and support load. Selling in terms removes all of it, and lets us buy hardware against known demand rather than a forecast. The saving goes straight into the rate card — a twelve-month Base works out around 20% below the six-month rate, and both are below what monthly billing would cost us to offer.
04How many IP addresses do I get?
One dedicated IPv4 and a routed /64 of IPv6 with every plan. Up to eight extra IPv4 addresses can be added at €1.20 each per month, assigned from the region's own prefix so geolocation stays consistent. A routed /48 of IPv6 is €2 a month if you are running your own network behind us.
05Is DDoS protection included?
Yes, on every plan, with no separate charge and no traffic threshold. Volumetric attacks are absorbed by hardware scrubbers at the edge and mitigation engages in under four seconds. The advanced tier adds layer-7 scrubbing and rules you write yourself, which matters for game servers and public APIs but not for much else.
06Is port 25 open? Can I run a mail server?
Port 25 is closed by default on new instances and opened on request — send a ticket saying what you are sending and to roughly how many recipients. It usually takes under an hour. Custom reverse DNS on both v4 and v6 is self-service from the console, which is the part that actually determines whether your mail lands.
