Waarom hosten in Japan?
Tokyo is bought for the interconnection; Osaka is bought because Tokyo exists. The usual pattern is a primary in Otemachi and a replica in Dojima. Beyond that it is Japanese game servers, MT5 terminals sitting near broker bridges, and domestic mirrors of app back-ends that were previously served out of Singapore.
Juridisch kader
The Act on the Protection of Personal Information applies, supervised by the Personal Information Protection Commission. Japan imposes no general communications-retention duty on hosting providers. Complaints about content run through the provider liability framework, which is a notice-and-response procedure rather than a delete button, and disclosure of a sender's identifying information requires a court process. In practice that means a Japanese complaint arrives as paperwork, not as an email demanding removal by Friday.

01How does a takedown request work against a Japanese instance?
It arrives as a notice, we forward it to you with the evidence, and you have twenty-four hours to answer — the same process we run everywhere. Japanese law puts identifying a sender behind a court procedure rather than a request form, so nobody gets your details because they asked politely. We answer orders valid in Japan.
02Is Osaka worth it if my users are all in Tokyo?
Only as insurance. For serving users it is the slower of the two and carries fewer peers, so it is the wrong choice as a primary unless your audience is in Kansai. The pattern that earns its money is a warm standby in Dojima you have actually tested failing over to — the value is in the separation from Tokyo, not in the round trip.

01Do I really not have to verify my identity?
Correct. Ordering requires an email address and a payment, and that is the whole list. There is no document upload, no selfie, no phone verification, no address check and no card on file. We have never run identity verification and we do not plan to start — the cheapest way to protect customer documents is to never hold any.
02What do you actually store about me?
Your email address, your invoices, the configuration of your servers, and 72 hours of NetFlow-level connection metadata used only for abuse investigation. Nothing else. When you close the account, all of it is erased within 24 hours except invoices, which accounting law makes us keep for ten years — those hold an invoice name of your choosing and no verified identity.
03Why can I only buy six or twelve months at a time?
Because it is what makes the price possible. Monthly billing means churn, idle capacity kept warm for people who might come back, payment retries and support load. Selling in terms removes all of it, and lets us buy hardware against known demand rather than a forecast. The saving goes straight into the rate card — a twelve-month Base works out around 20% below the six-month rate, and both are below what monthly billing would cost us to offer.
04How many IP addresses do I get?
One dedicated IPv4 and a routed /64 of IPv6 with every plan. Up to eight extra IPv4 addresses can be added at €1.20 each per month, assigned from the region's own prefix so geolocation stays consistent. A routed /48 of IPv6 is €2 a month if you are running your own network behind us.
05Is DDoS protection included?
Yes, on every plan, with no separate charge and no traffic threshold. Volumetric attacks are absorbed by hardware scrubbers at the edge and mitigation engages in under four seconds. The advanced tier adds layer-7 scrubbing and rules you write yourself, which matters for game servers and public APIs but not for much else.
06Is port 25 open? Can I run a mail server?
Port 25 is closed by default on new instances and opened on request — send a ticket saying what you are sending and to roughly how many recipients. It usually takes under an hour. Custom reverse DNS on both v4 and v6 is self-service from the console, which is the part that actually determines whether your mail lands.
