SG · Il quadro giuridico

Perché ospitare in Singapore?

Exchange-adjacent trading bots are the loudest use here, followed by API back-ends for South-East Asian apps, CDN origins, and VPN endpoints for people who want an Asian exit. Buying from Singtel and PCCW as well as Arelion and NTT is what makes the Indonesian and Philippine paths behave rather than tromboning through Hong Kong.

Il quadro giuridico

The Personal Data Protection Act applies, administered by the Personal Data Protection Commission. There is no general communications-retention mandate on hosting providers. Copyright takedown has a statutory notice route, and separately the online falsehoods legislation lets a minister direct correction or removal of specific content without going to court first. That is a different posture from Tokyo and it is worth weighing before you put anything editorial here. How often the power reaches a virtual server is not something we can promise you either way.

Domande specifiche: Singapore

01Is Singapore a good jurisdiction for a privacy-focused workload?
It is a solid data protection regime with a named commission, and no retention mandate reaching us. It is also a jurisdiction where content directions can come from a minister rather than a judge. For a VPN endpoint or a database that is irrelevant; for publishing, weigh it. Whatever the site, we answer only orders valid where the disk sits.
02Singapore or Hong Kong for the region?
Singapore unless the audience is inside mainland China. It is the larger of the two — more capacity, more peers, four carriers rather than three — and it is the one that reaches Indonesia and the Philippines directly instead of through someone else's transit. Hong Kong is the shorter path into the mainland and not much else, it is marked low stock more often, and the national security powers over electronic content there are worth reading before you commit anything editorial to it.

Domande

Domande sull'hosting in Singapore

01Do I really not have to verify my identity?
Correct. Ordering requires an email address and a payment, and that is the whole list. There is no document upload, no selfie, no phone verification, no address check and no card on file. We have never run identity verification and we do not plan to start — the cheapest way to protect customer documents is to never hold any.
02What do you actually store about me?
Your email address, your invoices, the configuration of your servers, and 72 hours of NetFlow-level connection metadata used only for abuse investigation. Nothing else. When you close the account, all of it is erased within 24 hours except invoices, which accounting law makes us keep for ten years — those hold an invoice name of your choosing and no verified identity.
03Why can I only buy six or twelve months at a time?
Because it is what makes the price possible. Monthly billing means churn, idle capacity kept warm for people who might come back, payment retries and support load. Selling in terms removes all of it, and lets us buy hardware against known demand rather than a forecast. The saving goes straight into the rate card — a twelve-month Base works out around 20% below the six-month rate, and both are below what monthly billing would cost us to offer.
04How many IP addresses do I get?
One dedicated IPv4 and a routed /64 of IPv6 with every plan. Up to eight extra IPv4 addresses can be added at €1.20 each per month, assigned from the region's own prefix so geolocation stays consistent. A routed /48 of IPv6 is €2 a month if you are running your own network behind us.
05Is DDoS protection included?
Yes, on every plan, with no separate charge and no traffic threshold. Volumetric attacks are absorbed by hardware scrubbers at the edge and mitigation engages in under four seconds. The advanced tier adds layer-7 scrubbing and rules you write yourself, which matters for game servers and public APIs but not for much else.
06Is port 25 open? Can I run a mail server?
Port 25 is closed by default on new instances and opened on request — send a ticket saying what you are sending and to roughly how many recipients. It usually takes under an hour. Custom reverse DNS on both v4 and v6 is self-service from the console, which is the part that actually determines whether your mail lands.
