AE · Il quadro giuridico

Perché ospitare in Emirati Arabi Uniti?

Two halls, two jobs. Dubai is the metro site: app back-ends and CDN origins for Gulf, South Asian and East African audiences, on Etisalat and Sparkle. Fujairah is the one people order after measuring — it opened in 2023 and it is the newest site we run, chosen for paths east rather than for local users.

Il quadro giuridico

A federal personal data protection law applies onshore, where both our halls sit, with the UAE Data Office as the federal authority. Its executive regulations have still not issued, so parts of the regime sit on the books without being operative — read any confident statement about UAE data protection, ours included, in that light. The DIFC and ADGM free zones run separate regimes and separate commissioners that do not cover us. There is no general retention mandate written for hosting providers, and content is regulated more directly than in Europe: the telecommunications regulator can require blocking without going through a court.

Domande specifiche: Emirati Arabi Uniti

01Which UAE data protection regime covers a Dubai instance?
The federal law, because Al Quoz and the Fujairah landing park are both onshore rather than inside DIFC or ADGM. Those free zones have their own regimes and their own commissioners, and none of that applies to hardware in our halls. We answer orders valid in the Emirates and produce only what the privacy policy lists.
02Dubai or Fujairah?
Dubai unless you have a specific reason. It has the larger port, more peers, three carriers and the metro exchange, and it is the better site for anything serving users. Fujairah is the answer when the Dubai metro hop is the thing you are trying to avoid — it sits at the landing park itself, on a smaller port and two carriers.

Domande

Domande sull'hosting in Emirati Arabi Uniti

01Do I really not have to verify my identity?
Correct. Ordering requires an email address and a payment, and that is the whole list. There is no document upload, no selfie, no phone verification, no address check and no card on file. We have never run identity verification and we do not plan to start — the cheapest way to protect customer documents is to never hold any.
02What do you actually store about me?
Your email address, your invoices, the configuration of your servers, and 72 hours of NetFlow-level connection metadata used only for abuse investigation. Nothing else. When you close the account, all of it is erased within 24 hours except invoices, which accounting law makes us keep for ten years — those hold an invoice name of your choosing and no verified identity.
03Why can I only buy six or twelve months at a time?
Because it is what makes the price possible. Monthly billing means churn, idle capacity kept warm for people who might come back, payment retries and support load. Selling in terms removes all of it, and lets us buy hardware against known demand rather than a forecast. The saving goes straight into the rate card — a twelve-month Base works out around 20% below the six-month rate, and both are below what monthly billing would cost us to offer.
04How many IP addresses do I get?
One dedicated IPv4 and a routed /64 of IPv6 with every plan. Up to eight extra IPv4 addresses can be added at €1.20 each per month, assigned from the region's own prefix so geolocation stays consistent. A routed /48 of IPv6 is €2 a month if you are running your own network behind us.
05Is DDoS protection included?
Yes, on every plan, with no separate charge and no traffic threshold. Volumetric attacks are absorbed by hardware scrubbers at the edge and mitigation engages in under four seconds. The advanced tier adds layer-7 scrubbing and rules you write yourself, which matters for game servers and public APIs but not for much else.
06Is port 25 open? Can I run a mail server?
Port 25 is closed by default on new instances and opened on request — send a ticket saying what you are sending and to roughly how many recipients. It usually takes under an hour. Custom reverse DNS on both v4 and v6 is self-service from the console, which is the part that actually determines whether your mail lands.
