RO · Il quadro giuridico

Perché ospitare in Romania?

Bucharest takes the bandwidth-heavy end of the fleet: package and image mirrors, backup targets, crawler fleets, media origins, and one of the four sites where Tor exits are permitted. Customers move here from Frankfurt when the workload is measured in terabytes rather than milliseconds, and the traffic allowance on the plan is what decides the order.

Il quadro giuridico

The GDPR applies, supervised by the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing. Romania's constitutional court has struck down communications-retention legislation more than once and the attempts since have not settled the question, so what a provider here can be required to keep is, as of writing, contested rather than resolved. We do not read that as a guarantee, and the short published list is what we would produce either way. Complaints about content are forwarded to you with the evidence; removal follows an order from a Romanian court, or we cut it ourselves where section 1 of the acceptable use policy is engaged.

Domande specifiche: Romania

01Is Romania a weaker EU jurisdiction than Germany or the Netherlands?
No, and it would be strange to sell it that way. The same GDPR applies, enforced by the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing, and the same acceptable use policy applies to what you run. What differs is what transit costs us there, and the fact that Bucharest permits Tor exits, which Frankfurt does not.
02Is one site in Romania enough for a production service?
One hall, so treat it as one failure domain. We lost both paths of a supposedly diverse fibre pair here once, to a construction crew, and now buy diversity with a documented route rather than a promise. If the service must not go dark, pair Bucharest with Sofia or Vienna; both are a short hop away.

Domande

Domande sull'hosting in Romania

01Do I really not have to verify my identity?
Correct. Ordering requires an email address and a payment, and that is the whole list. There is no document upload, no selfie, no phone verification, no address check and no card on file. We have never run identity verification and we do not plan to start — the cheapest way to protect customer documents is to never hold any.
02What do you actually store about me?
Your email address, your invoices, the configuration of your servers, and 72 hours of NetFlow-level connection metadata used only for abuse investigation. Nothing else. When you close the account, all of it is erased within 24 hours except invoices, which accounting law makes us keep for ten years — those hold an invoice name of your choosing and no verified identity.
03Why can I only buy six or twelve months at a time?
Because it is what makes the price possible. Monthly billing means churn, idle capacity kept warm for people who might come back, payment retries and support load. Selling in terms removes all of it, and lets us buy hardware against known demand rather than a forecast. The saving goes straight into the rate card — a twelve-month Base works out around 20% below the six-month rate, and both are below what monthly billing would cost us to offer.
04How many IP addresses do I get?
One dedicated IPv4 and a routed /64 of IPv6 with every plan. Up to eight extra IPv4 addresses can be added at €1.20 each per month, assigned from the region's own prefix so geolocation stays consistent. A routed /48 of IPv6 is €2 a month if you are running your own network behind us.
05Is DDoS protection included?
Yes, on every plan, with no separate charge and no traffic threshold. Volumetric attacks are absorbed by hardware scrubbers at the edge and mitigation engages in under four seconds. The advanced tier adds layer-7 scrubbing and rules you write yourself, which matters for game servers and public APIs but not for much else.
06Is port 25 open? Can I run a mail server?
Port 25 is closed by default on new instances and opened on request — send a ticket saying what you are sending and to roughly how many recipients. It usually takes under an hour. Custom reverse DNS on both v4 and v6 is self-service from the console, which is the part that actually determines whether your mail lands.
