Directly on the cable landing station, bypassing the Dubai metro entirely.
Fujairah · FJR1
FJR1 is inside the Cable Landing Park on the Gulf of Oman coast, on the far side of the Hajar mountains from Dubai — which is exactly why the cables come ashore here and not in the Gulf. It is the newest site in the fleet, opened in 2023, so it has never run anything but the current Genoa and Gen4 NVMe standard. No legacy generation was ever racked in it.
What it reaches
Transit more than eyeballs. Etisalat gives it Emirati reach and UAE-IX Fujairah the local fabric, but the real job is traffic between South Asia and Europe that would otherwise be dragged through the Dubai metro and back out again.
The trade-off
There is no metro here to speak of. Fujairah is a port with a cable station attached, so the fabric is small and the carrier list is two names, and most of what you reach from this room you reach over transit. If peering is what you are buying, that is Dubai, and it is a short haul inland.
Fleet
NVMe KVM instances in Fujairah, from €1.90 a month on a twelve-month term. Email address only, crypto accepted, live in under a minute.
